FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT & TECHNOLOGY EVALUATION SERVICES

DESCRIPTION: Rigel Technology can provide Employers and those with various disabilities a comprehensive overview of an employee’s abilities and strategies for maximizing their potential in their position. We have successfully assisted those with vision impairments, cognitive disabilities, hearing impairments, mobility challenged individuals and more in overcoming barriers in the workplace.

THE METHOD: Initially, we conduct an interview with the employee as an introduction to a personal visit at the worksite. We provide a functional assessment, taking all aspects of the work environment and the individuals’ strengths and weaknesses into consideration. This may involve some time spent shadowing an employee during work periods to determine their performance, time management and efficiency.
We often utilize the insight of a supervisor to assist us in understanding the employers’ perspective and job analysis for the final evaluation process.
Finally, we put together a complete report outlining resources and strategies that will make a world of difference in the employee being able to function effectively in the assigned position.

Our Staff

Rigel Technology consultants are experts in adaptive and mainstream technology, and are Microsoft Certified.  Additionally, they have certification in the Life Catalyst Program.  This enables the consultants to assess human behaviors and interactions at the jobsite as well as technology requirements.
